Overview

This 6 month post is associated with an i4i FAST grant in partnership with an award-winning medical tech company, WalkWithPath. The grant is titled “Step-sensor: Can sensor-based insoles detect changes in step quality associated with acquired brain injury?” and involves a programme of laboratory-based work using a smart pressure-sensor based insole and app. We aim to develop biomechanical data sets with people who have had a stroke to explore whether the device is capable of measuring changes in step quality such as foot-drop.

Main Duties And Responsibilities


* Carry out biomechanics research tasks focused on project delivery, under the supervision of members of the project’s academic team (Matt Carré and Claire Brockett)
* Lead the delivery of aspects of the project assigned to you; carrying out design and validation of experiments and analysis of results
* Liaise with collaborators to help disseminate research outputs.
* Present the work at national conferences and meetings.
* Prioritize activities in order to achieve objectives agreed with the supervisors and project sponsors.
* Maintain up to date knowledge of relevant literature.
* Support Patient and Public Involvement and Engagement activities associated with this project
* Any other duties, commensurate with the grade of the post.
