Are you a strategic Fleet professional with a passion for compliance and operational excellence? A world-leading main dealer in the plant and construction sector is seeking a Fleet Manager to lead their national fleet operations from a Newcastle base.
The Role
You will contribute to the development of a national fleet strategy aligned with long-term business objectives. This is a high-impact position covering everything from senior leadership support to boots-on-the-ground haulier management.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Contribution: Develop and deliver a fleet strategy focused on efficiency, ESG goals, and the transition toward a sustainable, lower-emission model (EV/Hybrid).
Full Lifecycle Management: Oversee procurement, maintenance, commissioning, and disposal, ensuring all assets are safe, compliant, and cost-effective.
Incident & Risk: Manage accident processes, insurance renewals, and driver-licence verification systems while protecting residual asset values.
Stakeholder & Haulier Engagement: Lead relationships with transport partners and hauliers, ensuring they meet strict regulatory (VOSA) and local (FORS) compliance standards.
Leadership & Budget: Motivate a high-performing team and manage the annual budget using data-driven insights to minimise costs and downtime.
Sustainability: Represent the Fleet function on the Sustainability Committee, driving carbon reduction through eco-efficient technologies and optimised driver behaviour.

What We're Looking For:
Proven fleet management background, ideally in Plant, Construction, or heavy Logistics.
Strong commercial acumen and experience managing CAPEX/OPEX budgets.
Working knowledge of FORS (Practitioner status preferred) and VOSA regulations.
A leader who can educate and influence internal stakeholders on industry best practices.
