An exciting opportunity has opened for a qualified veterinarian to join a dynamic technical services team as a Veterinary Technical Advisor. This role offers a unique blend of customer support, pharmacovigilance, and cross‑functional collaboration, supporting both companion animal and farm animal portfolios.
The successful candidate will be the first point of contact for technical product enquiries from veterinary professionals, pet owners, and farmers. They will also play a key role in managing adverse event reports, supporting internal teams, and contributing to training and educational initiatives.
Responsibilities
* Respond to technical enquiries via phone, email, and post, providing accurate and timely information to veterinary teams and customers.
* Investigate and manage suspected adverse reactions, product complaints, and lack of efficacy reports in line with pharmacovigilance guidelines.
* Liaise with internal departments (e.g., quality, field teams) to resolve product‑related issues and ensure customer satisfaction.
* Maintain and update technical documentation, FAQs, and internal knowledge bases.
* Support onboarding and training of new technical team members and assist the sales force with product knowledge.
* Collaborate with marketing, operations, and other business units to provide technical input and customer insights.
* Participate in out‑of‑hours support rota for urgent veterinary enquiries (e.g., overdoses), approximately one week in eight.
* Attend relevant meetings and conferences to stay current on disease areas, treatments, and industry developments.
* Lead initiatives on specific disease areas within the portfolio and contribute to educational content and messaging.
Qualifications & Experience
* Veterinary degree and active registration with the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (RCVS)
* Minimum 2 years of clinical practice experience preferred
* Strong communication skills—verbal, written, and interpersonal
* Ability to interpret and convey technical/scientific information clearly
* Empathy and customer‑focused mindset
* Team‑oriented with a proactive approach to learning and collaboration
* Computer literacy and familiarity with pharmacovigilance systems
* Willingness to travel occasionally and participate in industry events
