Job Title: Contract Technology Resilience Enterprise Architect
Location: Sheffield (Hybrid Working)
Duration: 10 Month initial contract
IR35 Status: Inside IR35
The Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Technology Resilience Enterprise Architect to join a major financial services organisation on a contract basis. This role is hybrid, based in Sheffield, and sits inside IR35.
You will play a key role in shaping and delivering enterprise-wide technology resilience strategy, ensuring systems, platforms and services are designed and operated to the highest standards of reliability, recoverability and operational excellence.
This is a strategic and hands‑on architecture role, requiring deep technical expertise and the ability to influence across large, complex technology estates.
Key Responsibilities
* Contribute to the Technology Resilience strategy and sub‑strategies, covering all aspects of resilience including:
* Applications
* Infrastructure & Cloud
* Security
* Data
* Observability
* Operations
* Culture
* Collaborate with Technology teams to develop and embed best‑practice resilience design patterns and reusable solutions.
* Establish strong feedback loops from production incident data into engineering and architecture best practices.
* Support the growth of resilience capability and skills across Technology teams.
* Contribute to architecture and design of central resilience services and tooling, improving visibility of resilience activities across the organisation.
* Lead strategic thinking around resilience improvement approaches and how resilience gaps should be identified and addressed.
* Senior Engineer and/or Architect with experience across one or more of:
* Infrastructure / Cloud
* Security
* Data
* Proven Technology Resilience specialist with experience designing for high availability, fault tolerance and recoverability in large‑scale environments.
* Strong experience working in complex enterprise environments, ideally within regulated industries.
Our client is building a strong Technology Resilience Architecture team with a blend of skills. Experience in some of the following areas would be highly advantageous:
* DevOps practices
* Infrastructure as Code & Automation
* CI/CD pipelines & Automated Testing
* SRE / Production Support
* SLOs, SLIs and Error Budgets
* Observability (Logging, Monitoring, Telemetry, Metrics)
* Strategy development & authorship
* Experience in global organisations
* Data analysis / AI on large datasets
* IT Service Management
Highly desirable
