I am recruiting on behalf of a prominent Leeds based university for an experienced Dean to lead one of their academic faculties on a full time temporary basis. This senior leadership role will involve providing strategic direction, overseeing academic standards, and supporting both staff and student success within the faculty.
Key Responsibilities
Provide academic and operational leadership for the faculty, ensuring alignment with university strategy and objectives
Oversee curriculum development, quality assurance, and teaching standards across all programmes
Support, mentor, and manage academic and administrative staff
Promote research, innovation, and collaboration within the faculty
Represent the faculty at university committees, external meetings, and stakeholder engagements
Ensure compliance with regulatory and professional standards within higher education
Requirements
Significant senior leadership experience within higher education, preferably at faculty or departmental level
Strong track record in academic management, curriculum oversight, and quality assurance
Relevant degree-level qualification, with postgraduate or professional experience highly desirable
Excellent communication, strategic thinking, and decision-making skills
Ability to inspire, motivate, and lead teams in a dynamic academic environment
