Job Title: Mechanical Design Engineer
Job Type: Permanent & Part-time available
Location: Hetfordshire
Flexible Opportunities: Hybrid
Working: Office-based with occasional travel to UK company sites (2-3 days onsite depending on project needs)

As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you'll lead the development of mechanical solutions for complex weapons and systems, collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams. The role is available on both permanent and part-time bases.
What will I be doing?
You'll lead the development of mechanical solutions across all stages of the Product Life Cycle, from Future Concepts and Detailed Design to Qualification, Production, and In-service Support.
To be successful, you'll need:
1. A Degree/HND/HNC qualified with extensive Mechanical Design experience
2. Proven leadership in mechanical design and team collaboration
3. Skilled in DFMEA, DFA, and DFM techniques
4. Strong communication, negotiation, & supplier engagement experience
Any previous experience in Defence/Aerospace or safety-regulated environments, proving and qualification activities, structural/thermal/dynamic analysis, and 3D CAD/CAE (training provided) would be advantageous but not essential for your application
