SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Rainham, London Borough of HaveringStart Date: ASAP / FlexibleContract: Full-time / Term-time onlySalary: Competitive, dependent on experience
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming school in Rainham. This is a rewarding opportunity to support pupils with special educational needs and make a real difference to their learning and development.
Key Responsibilities:
* Support pupils with a range of SEN needs (including ASD, ADHD, SEMH, and learning difficulties) on a 1:1 or small group basis
* Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging and inclusive lessons
* Provide emotional and behavioural support, helping pupils to regulate and engage positively
* Implement individual education plans (IEPs) and behaviour strategies
* Promote a safe, supportive, and nurturing learning environment
Requirements:
* Experience working with children with SEN (school or alternative setting preferred)
* A patient, caring, and resilient approach
* Strong communication and teamwork skills
* Ability to follow guidance from teachers and SENCOs
* Relevant qualifications or training are desirable but not essential
