Overview
Are you interested in working in an inpatient rehabilitation setting, using your Occupational Therapy skills and expertise to help people with Complex Psychosis? Suffolk Rehabilitation and Recovery Service (SRRS) is looking to recruit a full‑time Band 6 Occupational Therapist. You will work with a Band 5 OT, a multidisciplinary team of clinical psychologist, consultant psychiatrist, doctors, nurses and rehabilitation workers, on a 10‑bed mixed‑gender ward in Ipswich. The role is part of an expanding recovery pathway that includes a new community rehabilitation team, with which you will collaborate.
Responsibilities
* Assessment of Activities of Daily Living
* Leading implementation of the VdT Model of Creative Ability (training is available)
* Report writing and occupational formulation
* Planning and carrying out interventions, including group facilitation
* Contributing to care planning and risk assessment
* Overseeing the process of service‑user meal preparation
* Promoting a recovery approach within the wider MDT
* Supporting discharge planning, working with community teams, and providing outreach visits where indicated
* Helping to oversee the ward timetable and creating individual weekly planners based on level of functioning and goals
* Attending reviews and professional meetings
* Establishing and maintaining links with community services
* Supervising the Band 5 OT
