Description Position Overview The Sr Manager, Regional Tax Planning & Operations (EMEA) reports to the Director, Global Tax Planning & Operations and is responsible overall tax matters in the EMEA region. What You’ll Do This role is responsible for the overall management of the Company’s tax position for countries in the EMEA region. For all countries in the region, you will contribute to global tax planning & strategy, statutory compliance (accounts and tax returns), tax accounting for SEC purposes, and transfer pricing. This role requires specific experience in either UK or German tax law; for countries outside your expertise, you will be supported as needed from local third-party tax advisors for the technical tax rules of the relevant country. The Company operating structure is decentralized with several finance organization and effective collaboration across matrixed organization (corporate finance, global trade, global tax, and local finance) is a key to success. Your role includes the following: Technical Resource: This role is expected to have expertise equivalent to title for your home country (UK or Germany), with demonstrated experience in planning, cross-border analysis, and statutory reporting requirements. For all other countries, using a network of advisors, the role must monitor proposed and newly enacted legislation, regulations, rulings, and court cases which may impact to the global tax position of the Company. Income Tax SEC Reporting: Provide support for the income tax accounting reporting for the region, including review of the following at the country (or entity) level: quarterly tax rate, tax attributes, EBT by country forecast, tax provision computations (including current and deferred taxes), actual (or forecasted) cash tax payments. Statutory Compliance and audit: Work with local controllers to provide oversight for timely completion of statutory accounts and income tax returns. Review statutory accounts and income tax returns prior to filing. Review (or prepare as needed) return to provision calculations required for SEC reporting. Review OECD Pillar II calculations and filings for regional countries and ensure local requirements are considered in filings. Manage and be actively involved with local income tax audits Other transactional taxes: Manage stamp duty and withholding tax; ensuring reporting and payment compliance. Provide governance and support for VAT issues relevant to intercompany and business transactions. Transfer Pricing: Based upon overall transfer pricing policy of the Company, review financial results to ensure transfer pricing has remained within policy. To the extent transfer pricing has not remained within policy, coordinate with the local finance, global customs/trade, and global tax organization to ensure appropriate adjustments including (e.g., VAT, Duties) are implemented. Business Advisor: Develop a strong understanding of the operating companies doing business in the region; develop relationships with key contacts and stakeholders (internal/external) for each country. Organizational Collaboration: Develop and maintain collaborative relationships throughout the corporate organization, including those responsible for financial reporting, forecasting, and internal audit. Be supported in efforts to continue your training, staying current in tax developments, and establishing yourself in the tax community Qualifications & Certifications Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in taxation, accounting, finance or related field Fluent in business English Charted Accountant, CPA, or relevant tax certification, preferred 8 years of progressive corporate or public accounting experience in income tax, including progressive experience for multi-national corporations. Skills & Competencies Highly skilled user of MSFT Office Suite Experience with tax software (e.g., CorpTax) and data-efficiency tools (e.g., Power BI Platform, Alteryx). Expertise in either UK or German tax law, regulations, and relevant court cases for the Company. Demonstrated analytical skills for reviewing financial computations related to tax and accounting. Demonstrated ability to translate complex income tax concepts into tax planning with actionable strategies. Demonstrated knowledge of local accounting for income tax and basic understanding of ASC 740 (US Tax Accounting rules and guidance). Strong communication skills with ability to interact with effectively with external advisors and finance teams throughout the organization. Results-oriented, technically-curious, and values effective collaboration. Positive self-started with willingness to learn, understand the business, and readily adapt to a fast-changing business.
