What will you do?
To ensure all health, safety and environmental systems, procedures and guidance are in place within the company, designed to ensure full compliance with corporate policy and statutory regulations and codes of practice. To actively drive internal conformance. To provide site services support.
How will you do it?
Responsible for continual review of current EHS practices and procedures throughout the business. Make recommendations to the management of changes that will improve safety, reduce environmental impact, and ensure that these are implemented into business management system.
Improving site incident rates and promoting continuous improvement in EHS performance.
Understanding of UK Environmental, Health & Safety Regulations & Best Practice, including ISO14001 & ISO45001.
To initiate strategies to stimulate and develop a positive safety culture towards Zero Harm. Lead safety committees and engage all employees in EHS improvement.
Conduct training needs analysis, schedule training and maintain training records.
Expected to work independently to determine EHS strategy, working closely with Regional EHS Manager, Operations Director & site management team on effective delivery.
To control the interface & correspondence with relevant statutory authorities, institutions, industry associations and the Regional EHS manager, in a responsible and professional manner. Internal customer responsiveness is highest priority to address internal EHS concerns in an inclusive and timely manner.
Possesses great integrity and sensitivity when dealing with other people. A good listener who has the ability to communicate their message clearly and concisely to all levels within the organization.
What we look for?
Required
1. GCSE Math & English or equivalent
2. IOSH Working Safely or equivalent Level 1 Certificate
3. Minimum 2 years in manufacturing environment
4. Experience in management / supervision
5. Experience in managing contractors / suppliers
6. Problem Solving / Root Cause Analysis
7. IT Savvy
8. Interpersonal Skills
9. Understanding of ISO14001 & ISO45001
Preferred
10. Level 3 EHS Certificate
11. ISO Internal Auditing Training
12. Experience managing ISO14001 & ISO45001
13. Coaching / Mentoring experience
