Join us as a Portfolio Lead and you’ll be a big part of this. Role Purpose: The Portfolio Lead owns identifying, prioritising, and scheduling technology investment within the selected portfolio. Working closely with the business stakeholders to navigate new demand through governance and into delivery. This role provides oversight of the portfolio to Kingfisher Group, engaging with senior business leadership to facilitate investment decisions and agree on the future roadmap. Tracking, analysing and reporting on all portfolio outcomes and value cases to optimally achieve enterprise goals and objectives Key Accountabilities / Responsibilities: Management of B&Q Technology Portfolio Management of the B&Q technology portfolio budget for current financial year. Collaborate with the Finance and Technology teams to review and report monthly portfolio expenditure, continuously improving forecast accuracy. Refine and manage financial reporting processes to provide timely and accurate insights into B&Q technology spend. Administer a centralised view of milestones and OKRs, facilitating regular updates and ensuring stakeholders have full visibility of progress and status. Identify and report on Portfolio risks, highlighting significant ones as required. Ensure post-completion reviews are conducted for all required projects to assess return on investment and benefits realisation. Deliver comprehensive onboarding and guidance to new team members on the use of the Projectum tool, ensuring they are proficient in entering and managing forecasts for their respective initiatives. Management of Governance Process Serve as the primary point of contact for governance requirements related to budget approval. Support Technology Directors, Project Managers, and Product Managers in navigating the budget approval process. Management of New Intake Process Manage the process for new demand requests, implementing a robust framework for prioritisation that balances business outcomes, cost, resource requirements, dependencies, and risks. Provide ongoing reporting on new intake throughout the year to support informed decision-making. Contribute to wider Group Portfolio Team Work closely with Group Portfolio teams to enhance the annual budget planning process. Actively participate in the Portfolio Chapter team, contributing suggestions for process improvements and more effective ways of working. Organise and facilitate quarterly review and planning sessions, ensuring that past achievements and upcoming deliverables for B&Q are effectively communicated to the broader Technology function. Ensure all relevant data and input are provided to planning forums throughout the year. Additional Reporting and Communication Management of the B&Q Technology team SharePoint site, ensuring content is current and accurately maintained. Coordinate and manage sharing sessions for the wider B&Q technology team to promote knowledge exchange and awareness of events across the Group. Required Skills & Experience: Portfolio and Budget Management: Extensive experience in managing technology portfolios, including budget oversight, financial reporting, and forecasting. Data Analysis and Reporting: Strong skills in portfolio data management, analysis, and the refinement of reporting processes to support decision-making. Governance and Process Management: Experience serving as a point of contact for governance requirements and supporting stakeholders through budget approval processes. Stakeholder Engagement: Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to engage and influence senior leaders and Board-level stakeholders. Collaboration and Teamwork: Ability to work effectively across matrix teams, break down organizational silos, and build strong partnerships. Technical Proficiency: Quick to learn and adapt to new systems and technologies; familiarity with tools such as Projectum, Monday.com, Jira, and Craft.io is advantageous. Commercial Acumen: Strong commercial understanding and analytical skills to support investment decisions. Methodological Awareness: Understanding of various delivery methodologies and their application in technology projects. As part of a great team, you’ll be valued for who you are.
