Job Summary
We are looking for a highly motivated, enthusiastic specialist clinical pharmacist (band 8a) to join our team. The post-holder will be part of the wider clinical pharmacy service, providing services across all disease groups but will focus primarily on the breast cancer disease group, supervising systemic anti‑cancer therapies for oncology patients.
Responsibilities
* Deliver and evaluate specialist clinical pharmacy services to breast cancer patients.
* Supervise and prescribe systemic anti‑cancer therapies and supportive treatments for patients with breast cancer.
* Maintain highly specialist knowledge of medicines used within the trust, particularly for the designated cancer disease group.
* Promote the safe, efficient and cost‑effective use of medicines by providing education, training, procedures, policies, guidelines and medicine usage information.
* Contribute to the wider clinical pharmacy service for patients across all disease groups.
* Support flexible working arrangements, including occasional working from home and travel across the Greater Manchester and Cheshire Cancer Network as required.
Qualifications
* Vocational Masters Degree or equivalent in Pharmacy.
* Membership of the General Pharmaceutical Council.
* Post Graduate Diploma in Clinical Pharmacy or equivalent.
* Evidence of continuing professional development.
Experience
* Remaining post‑registration experience within hospital oncology.
* Financial awareness and drug budgeting.
* Providing medicines information and advice.
* Screening/reviewing prescriptions, including oral systemic anti‑cancer therapies.
* Training or teaching pharmacy, nursing or medical staff.
* Experience of multidisciplinary team working.
Skills
* Teaching and presentation skills with excellent interpersonal and communication abilities to convey complex concepts.
* Ability to coach, motivate and inspire colleagues.
* Strong networking skills with internal and external professional organisations.
* Efficient, initiative‑driven work style with good time management.
