BMW Group Plant Hams Hall is a modern, state-of-the-art engine manufacturing facility, located just outside Birmingham, UK. Producing the latest generation of three and four cylinder petrol engines, and precision machining key engine components, the plant has recently celebrated 20 years of successful production.
As a team we are responsible for the implementation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of the Quality Management System at BMW Plant Hams Hall. Our team conducts internal audits of production processes to ensure conformity and identify areas of optimisation.
What awaits you?
* Extracting and visualising the masses of data our production system generates.
* Support our quality engineers in leading the problem resolution of any quality issues within the Assembly function.
* Working with QMS teams to Innovate and Digitalise production in line with our core business processes.
* Offering consultancy to the wider business on how they can improve their processes using digitalisation and business reporting.
* Responsible for the detailed representations of large datasets to steer and forecast our quality landscape.
What should you bring along?
* Studying a Bachelor's or integrated Master's degree and on track to achieve a 2:2 or above in a Mechanical/Production based Engineering course, or similar.
* Competent in JavaScript as well as SQL. Some experience in Python or R would be advantageous.
* Experience with, or willingness to learn, data visualisation tools, namely Power BI.
* An understanding of basic web development skillsets would be beneficial.
* A general understanding of the Agile project management methodology.
* A willingness to learn as well as to teach.
* Excellent communication skills.
