Job Title: Registered Nurse Care Home Location: Pencaitland, Tranent (EH34), EH34 5DJ Job Summary: We are seeking a compassionate, dedicated, and qualified Registered Nurse (RN) to join our care home team. The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering high-quality clinical care to elderly residents, including those with dementia, physical disabilities, and complex health needs. You will be responsible for overseeing care plans, administering medication, and leading by example to maintain a safe, caring, and person-centred environment. Key Responsibilities: Provide high-quality nursing care to residents in line with individual care plans. Administer medications and treatments safely, accurately, and in accordance with NMC and EMAR protocols. Monitor and assess residents physical and emotional wellbeing, reporting any changes to healthcare professionals or families. Lead and support the care team in delivering safe, effective, and compassionate care. Ensure proper documentation and maintain accurate clinical records. Collaborate with GPs, external healthcare professionals, and multidisciplinary teams. Support, mentor, and supervise junior staff and care assistants. Promote dignity, respect, and quality of life for all residents. Uphold all safeguarding, health and safety, and infection control policies. Requirements: Valid NMC registration as a Registered Nurse (Adult or Mental Health). SSSC registration (mandatory for roles based in Scotland) or willingness to register before employment begins. Minimum of 1 year experience in a care home or similar setting (preferred). Strong clinical knowledge and confident in medication administration. Excellent communication and leadership skills. Compassionate, patient, and professional attitude. Desirable: Experience with dementia care, palliative care, or complex needs. Familiarity with EMAR (Electronic Medication Administration Records) systems. Up-to-date training in Moving & Handling, Infection Control, and Safeguarding.
