Carmichael UK is seeking an experienced Senior Planning Engineer to join a dynamic regional team. In this role, you will oversee the planning and scheduling of multiple live projects valued up to £1 million. You’ll be a key figure in ensuring programmes are realistic, coordinated, and risk-aware—adding real value through proactive planning support and stakeholder collaboration.

What you’ll be doing:

Creating, developing, and maintaining project programmes using Primavera P6 (MS Project or Asta also considered)

Monitoring project progress, identifying delays or risks, and providing mitigation strategies

Working closely with site and project teams to align programmes with logistics and on-site realities

Identifying and managing project risks, developing recovery and mitigation plans

Supporting ECI planning and contributing to tender-stage submissions

Liaising with commercial, design, and delivery teams to ensure programme feasibility

Producing programme updates and reports for internal and external stakeholders

What we’re looking for:

Strong technical expertise in planning and scheduling tools (Primavera P6 preferred)

Proven experience in planning and scheduling within the construction or civil engineering sector

Ability to challenge and influence project teams with practical, risk-aware solutions

Excellent stakeholder communication and reporting skills
