Overview
Queen Mary University of London is looking for an experienced auditing professional at either the Lecturer or Senior Lecturer level to enhance the integration of industry practice within its Department of Accounting & Financial Management. The postholder will deliver high-quality, practice-informed teaching across undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, organise and lead auditing modules, and support programmes that offer ICAEW/ACCA/CIMA professional-level exemptions. The role involves developing curriculum content, maintaining strong links with professional bodies, and contributing to industry engagement, outreach and public-facing activities. It will play a central part in preparing students for careers in accounting, finance and corporate roles.
Responsibilities
* Deliver high-quality, practice-informed teaching across undergraduate and postgraduate programmes.
* Organise and lead auditing modules and support programmes that offer ICAEW/ACCA/CIMA professional-level exemptions.
* Develop curriculum content and maintain strong links with professional bodies.
* Contribute to industry engagement, outreach and public-facing activities.
Qualifications and experience
* PhD in Accounting or equivalent professional qualification or experience.
* Membership of a recognised accounting body such as ICAEW.
* Extensive, up-to-date technical knowledge of auditing and experience teaching auditing-related modules at undergraduate or postgraduate level.
* Ability to design, deliver and assess high-quality professional-level teaching, including modules aligned to ICAEW/ACCA/CIMA exemptions.
* Strong communication skills, ability to support students effectively, and awareness of emerging developments in the profession.
* Ability to build productive relationships, influence professional stakeholders, and contribute to a national professional profile in auditing practice.
