This post is for the Team Manager of the Care Home Team. The Team is an Integrated Team responsible for supporting older people's care homes and the service users who reside there. The Team consists of Social Workers, Registered Mental Health Nurses, Registered General Nurses and an Occupational Therapist. Working in a hybrid style, based both at home and Kingsway Centre, you will work full time, 37 hours. Requirements
You will have Degree in Social Work, Diploma in Social Work CQSW, CSS (with appropriate option).
Responsibilities
You will provide professional leadership, management and operational support as a first line manager to a team of support and social workers delivering a social work services, whilst ensuring high standards of practice parameters and service provision are maintained.
The Individual
Applicant will be required to have a good understanding of mental health and physical conditions that affect older people along with proven supervisory, management and leadership experience, experience of multi-disciplinary working and fieldwork experience. You will have excellent communication, organisational skills, as well as the ability to lead, advise, assess and respond to critical situations. You will be required to have a good understanding of the Adult Support and Protection (Scotland) Act, 2007 and the implementation of this along with other social work practice legislation and the sound knowledge of community care services. You will have experience of working with Partner Agencies, have commitment to ongoing effective staff support and development and the ability to work to professional standards and within local policies and procedures. You will be able to travel efficiently in the course of duties when required and have the ability to register with the Scottish Social Services Council within a specified timescale. This post is considered Regulated Work with Children and/or Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme, or undergo a PVG Scheme update check, prior to a formal offer of employment being made by Dundee City Council.
