Our client is seeking a Director of Human Resources to serve as the senior HR leader for the organization, providing strategic and operational leadership across all human resources functions. This role partners closely with executive leadership to align workforce strategies with business objectives, foster a high-performance culture, and ensure compliance with employment laws and organizational policies.
Key Responsibilities
HR Leadership & Strategy
- Develop and execute HR strategies aligned with organizational goals and workforce needs
- Serve as a trusted advisor to executive leadership on workforce planning, organizational design, and employee relations matters
- Establish departmental goals, metrics, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Present workforce analytics, trends, and recommendations to senior leadership
Talent Acquisition & Workforce Planning
- Lead recruiting, hiring, onboarding, and retention strategies
- Develop workforce plans to address current and future staffing needs
- Implement succession planning and leadership development programs
- Monitor key workforce metrics including turnover, vacancy rates, and time-to-fill
Employee Relations
- Oversee employee relations programs, investigations, performance management, and corrective action processes
- Advise leaders on employee performance, engagement, and workplace concerns
- Develop and maintain policies that support a positive and compliant work environment
- Administer employee feedback and engagement initiatives
- Lead compensation strategy, salary administration, and market benchmarking efforts
- Evaluate and recommend employee benefit programs
- Partner with leadership to ensure competitive and cost-effective total rewards programs
- Support employee education regarding benefits and compensation programs
Learning & Organizational Development
- Oversee leadership development, employee training, and performance management programs
- Partner with leaders to identify skill gaps and development opportunities
- Support organizational change initiatives and culture-building efforts
- Develop programs that strengthen employee engagement and retention
HR Operations & Technology
- Lead HR systems, reporting, and workforce analytics initiatives
- Utilize data to identify trends and support strategic decision-making
- Improve HR processes and workflows through technology and automation
- Maintain HR communications and employee resources
Compliance & Risk Management
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations
- Oversee workplace investigations and collaborate with legal counsel when necessary
- Manage employment-related risk and policy development
- Support workplace safety and health initiatives
- Lead, develop, and mentor HR team members
- Manage departmental budgets, vendor relationships, and HR-related contracts
- Establish performance expectations and support employee development
- Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field
- 8+ years of progressive Human Resources leadership experience
- Strong knowledge of employment law, employee relations, compensation, benefits, and organizational development
- Experience partnering with executive leadership on strategic workforce initiatives
- Demonstrated success leading HR teams and driving organizational change
- Strong analytical, communication, and leadership skills
Preferred
- Master's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field
- Professional HR certification (SPHR, SHRM-SCP, or equivalent)
- Base salary $100K – $150K based on experience
