Overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, motivated person to join the team on Ward C31 in the Queens Centre at Castle Hill Hospital in the role of Housekeeper/Hygienist. You will work alongside the nursing team and fellow housekeeper to ensure that high standards are maintained to deliver a quality service. You will work closely with the Hygienist and there will be a crossover in your role, both are expected to support one another and deputies when one is on leave. The working days are Mon - Friday. Ward C31 is a specialist Oncology Ward which consists of 23 beds; we predominately take care of patients who have cancer and are at various stages in their treatment and care. Please note that this advertised vacancy does not meet the UKVI eligibility requirements for a Skilled Worker Visa and therefore HUTH would not be able to issue a Certificate of Sponsorship for this role.
The Hygienist role includes maintaining national standards of cleanliness in relation to the direct patient environment and medical equipment within the ward area, whilst adhering to infection control policies.
Responsibilities

* Work with the Hygienist and nursing team; be flexible to meet service needs and be able to work under own initiative.
* Escalate issues including broken and worn-out equipment as necessary.
* Provide support to colleagues and deputies when on leave.
Qualifications and Requirements
* Good communication skills and flexibility to meet the needs of the service.
* Ability to work under own initiative and escalate issues as required.
* Knowledge of working in a care environment is an advantage but not essential.
* National Care Certificate; expected to be completed.
* Academic qualifications are not essential; IT skills are an advantage as reporting broken equipment is done electronically.
* Full training and support will be provided.
