Exciting Opportunity at Newcastle Hospitals - Band 6 Specialist Dietitian
Join our friendly Community Dietetics Team at Newcastle Hospitals as a Band 6 Specialist Dietitian. We are seeking an individual with excellent organisational and communication skills to oversee a caseload of patients requiring oral nutrition support (ONS) within the Newcastle upon Tyne community. The role involves home visits, community clinics, and multidisciplinary team (MDT) collaboration, offering a challenging, interesting, and rewarding experience due to the diverse patient group.
Key Responsibilities
1. Work closely with the ONS lead dietitian to support weekly MDT meetings and service development.
2. Manage a caseload of adult patients, including home and care home visits, community clinics, and telehealth reviews.
3. Deliver high-quality dietetic services aligned with trust values.
4. Support and supervise dietetic support workers and practitioners, including peer support and appraisals.
5. Participate in student training, supervision, research, and audit activities.
6. Contribute to service development and multidisciplinary collaboration.
7. Manage referrals from triage through discharge.
Qualifications and Experience
* Experience in nutrition support.
* Self-motivated, well-organized, and able to work independently.
* Demonstrated ongoing CPD and practice development.
* Good relationships with colleagues and MDT members.
* Driver’s license and ability to carry weighing equipment are essential.

Location: Regents Point, Gosforth, with support from community and hospital sites
