Are you passionate about making a difference in pupil behavior and supporting young people to get back on track? We are looking for a highly organised, resilient, and empathetic individual to manage our Restart (Isolation and Internal Exclusion) provision.
This is more than just a supervisory role; it’s an opportunity to provide a calm, structured environment where pupils can reflect on their actions while maintaining their academic progress.
As the Restart Manager at Folkestone Academy, you will be the heartbeat of our behavioral support system. You will oversee the day-to-day operations of the Restart room, ensuring that every pupil who enters is processed efficiently and supported effectively.
Your key responsibilities will include:
1. Operational Management: Managing all aspects of the Restart room from pupil intake to the meticulous handling of associated paperwork.
2. Academic Coordination: Liaising daily with teaching staff to ensure pupils have access to high-quality work via Google Classroom or physical materials.
3. Pupil Intervention: Going beyond supervision to offer meaningful intervention, helping pupils understand their behavior and prepare for a successful return to the classroom.
4. Pastoral Collaboration: Working closely with the Pastoral Support Team to maintain accurate documentation and ensure a holistic approach to pupil welfare.
What We’re Looking For
5. A Firm but Fair Approach: You can maintain high expectations for behavior while remaining calm and professional.
6. Organisational Excellence: You’ll be managing multiple streams of paperwork and pupil data—accuracy is key.
7. Communication Skills: You will be a central point of contact between the Vice Principal (Behaviour and Attendance), teaching staff, and pastoral teams.
8. Resilience: You have the ability to work with pupils who may be experiencing challenges and can offer the intervention needed to turn their day around.
