We are delighted to be supporting a fast-growing business based in Didcot in their search for an Inventory/Financial Accountant.
The business is in an exciting phase of growth and change, and this role puts you right at the centre of it. You'll help shape smarter financial processes, build best-in-class reporting, and drive improvements to how inventory and wider financial reporting is delivered. You will have exposure to high-profile projects, collaboration across the business, and the chance to expand your role into broader financial accounting as the team continues to grow.
What you'll be doing:
* Inventory reporting projects:
Analyse current inventory processes, identify areas for streamlining, and implement improvements with a focus on automation and accuracy.
* Month-end financial reporting:
Calculate inventory provisions, review balance sheet reconciliations, and support colleagues across the team.
* Audit & controls:
Support internal audit reviews, rationalise month-end procedures, and ensure compliance with accounting policies.
* Finance transformation:
Represent the financial accounting function in wider business transformation and growth projects.
* Longer-term responsibilities:
Transition into a core financial accounting role, owning the month-end close process and ensuring technical accuracy of assigned business areas.
What we're looking for:
* A fully qualified accountant (ACA or ACCA) with a few years' post-qualification experience.
* Experience in a manufacturing or inventory-heavy environment is highly desirable.
* Strong technical accounting knowledge and balance sheet review skills.
* Proven experience in process improvement and driving efficiencies.
* Strong communication skills with confidence engaging across finance and the wider business.
* Advanced Excel skills and Power BI experience would be advantageous.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a motivated and technically strong accountant to join a growing organisation at a pivotal stage of transformation. You'll have the chance to lead on projects, influence process improvements, and shape the development of the finance function, while also building a career with long-term progression.
