The role
As an Account Director, you are a strategic leader and trusted partner to our clients. You provide clear direction and leadership across your accounts, ensuring all projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards expected in a global medical communications network.
You will lead and nurture client relationships, acting as a key strategic advisor. Your deep understanding of the healthcare landscape and relevant therapy areas enables you to anticipate client needs and guide the team in delivering solutions that align with evolving client strategies and industry developments.
You'll play a pivotal role in driving business growth by identifying opportunities for organic expansion, shaping strategic proposals, and collaborating with senior stakeholders to unlock new value.
Core Duties & Responsibilities
* Lead client engagements and ensure strategic alignment across projects
* Develop long-term client partnerships through trust and performance
* Resolve complex client issues with empathy and strategic insight
* Provide strategic input to the client, based on a thorough understanding of the therapeutic area and market influences
* Establish and reinforce relationships with key client personnel, primarily marketing, medical, procurement teams and ensure regular client contact
* Keep up-to-date with issues/events/changes and proactively advise the client on new issues and the external environment
* Proactively foresee potential issues and plan contingencies for scenarios where possible
* Direct the team on client liaison, particularly on complex projects
* Ensure all client objections are handled fairly and appropriately
* Develop strategic plans that align with the client’s business objectives
* Translate client needs into actionable communication strategies
* Manage senior client stakeholders and build strategic relationships
* Navigate complex stakeholder environments across global teams
* Influence client decision-making through data-driven insights
* Have the ability to shift programme direction in response to a changing landscape and provide counsel to the client
* Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, responding promptly to client communications and providing quality counsel and strategic advice as required
* Drive organic growth through strategic account planning
* Identify new business opportunities and lead proposal development
* Collaborate with global teams to expand service offerings
* Provide active support on pitches and form a part of the presentation team where required
* Draw on existing expertise to add value in areas of new business development
* Oversee account budgets and ensure profitability
* Review financial performance and provide recommendations for improvement
* Develop, approve, reconcile and negotiate project budgets and ensure prompt invoicing
