Build and maintain good relationships withnew and existing suppliers. Keeps up with market trends and chooses products. Assesses budgetarylimitations and customer requirements and decides on quantity, type, range and quality of goods or servicesto be bought. Helps negotiate contracts with suppliers and specifies details of goods required. Looks at waysto improve supply networks, and presents new ideas to the senior management team. Ensures that delivereditems comply with the order, monitors the quality of incoming goods and returns unsatisfactory or faultyitems, monitors performance and makes sure targets are met. Works closely with merchandisers who allocatestock and develop sales forecasts. Maintains records and prepares reports as necessary.
