Our client is looking for an experienced and driven Operations Manager to oversee the day-to-day running of their hazardous waste operation. This is a hands-on leadership role focused on ensuring operational efficiency, maintaining high compliance standards, and driving continuous improvement across the business.
The successful candidate will lead a team of approximately 10 employees and play a key role in ensuring operational targets, safety standards, and customer expectations are consistently achieved and improved upon.
Key Responsibilities
1. Oversee the daily operations of hazardous waste collection, processing, and disposal
2. Ensure full compliance with environmental, health & safety, and regulatory requirements
3. Manage and support operational staff, drivers, and site personnel
4. Develop, implement, and maintain safe working procedures
5. Monitor operational performance, productivity, and associated costs
6. Investigate incidents, accidents, and near misses, implementing corrective actions where required
7. Coordinate maintenance schedules for vehicles, plant equipment, and facilities
8. Manage operational scheduling and customer service issues
9. Liaise with regulators, contractors, customers, and internal technical sales teams
