BSI UK is a leading company in the travel and tourism sector with our head office based in London.
Our portfolio includes tour operations, travel agencies, destination management services, and hospitality ventures across multiple markets. We are currently seeking an experienced Financial Controller.
Role Summary:
We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Financial Controller to join our team.
This is a critical leadership role responsible for overseeing the financial strategy and operations across multiple companies.
The successful candidate will maintain financial stability during this transition period while implementing effective financial controls.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Financial Reporting: Prepare and present timely financial statements, management reports, and performance analyses to the CEO and Board.
2. Implementing and maintaining internal controls: Ensure that financial processes are secure and comply with regulations.
3. Risk Management: Identify and mitigate financial risks, including currency fluctuations and regulatory compliance specific to the travel sector.
4. Overseeing audits: Work with external auditors to ensure compliance and accuracy.
5. Managing cash flow: Monitor and manage cash inflows and outflows.
6. Oversee accounting operations: Supervise the accounting team and ensure accuracy and timeliness of financial transactions.
7. Team Leadership: Oversee the finance team (4 people), ensuring smooth day-to-day operations and maintaining morale during this interim period.
8. Compliance: Ensure adherence to UK financial regulations, tax obligations, and industry-specific standards, maintaining the group’s reputation for integrity.
9. Ad Hoc Projects: Support strategic initiatives, such as cost optimization or investment analysis, to drive profitability in a competitive travel market.
Required Qualifications & Experience:
* Minimum 7+ years' experience in senior financial management roles
* Previous experience as a Financial Controller or similar senior finance role
* Strong knowledge of UK financial regulations, accounting standards, and tax law
* Experience in managing financial operations across multiple companies or business units
* Proven track record in financial planning, analysis, and reporting
* Excellent leadership and team management skills
* Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate complex financial data into actionable insights
* Experience with financial systems
* Excellent English and Russian verbal and written skills

* Experience in the travel, tourism, or hospitality sectors
* Understanding of international finance, multi-currency operations, and foreign exchange management
* Knowledge of travel industry financial regulations and compliance requirements
* Familiarity with seasonal business cycles and corresponding financial management
* Strong commercial acumen and business partnering skills
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Ability to adapt quickly to new environments and systems
* Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
* Resilience and ability to work effectively under pressure
