An established architectural practice is seeking a Senior Architect or Senior Architectural Technologist to join its growing technical team, specialising in cladding remediation and retrofit projects across the residential and mixed-use sectors.
This is a hands-on technical role, suited to a confident Revit user with strong regulatory knowledge and experience working within the current Building Safety framework. You'll play a key role in delivering technically robust design packages while coordinating consultants and supporting compliance through the Gateway process.
The Role
Lead and deliver technical design packages for cladding remediation and retrofit schemes
Produce and coordinate detailed Revit models, drawings, and specifications
Ensure compliance with the Building Safety Act 2022 and associated legislation
Support and, where required, undertake BRPD (Building Regulations Principal Designer) duties
Prepare and contribute to Gateway 1, 2 & 3 submissions
Coordinate consultant and specialist subcontractor design information
Review contractor proposals, technical details, and material selections
Identify and manage technical and regulatory risks
Provide technical guidance and support to junior team members
Liaise with clients, contractors, and statutory authorities
Skills & Experience
Essential
Qualified Architect or Architectural Technologist
Strong Revit proficiency
3-5 years' experience in cladding remediation, façade replacement, or retrofit projects
Strong technical detailing and construction knowledge
Good working knowledge of the Building Safety Act 2022
Familiarity with the Gateway process
Understanding of BRPD responsibilities and design risk management
Experience working within multi-disciplinary teams
Strong communication and coordination skills
Desirable
Experience working on Higher-Risk Buildings
Previous involvement in BRPD roles or support functions
Knowledge of fire safety strategies, façade systems, and compliance routes
Immediate or short-notice availability
