Overview
Boston House provides slow stream Neuro Rehabilitation for 17 adults who have complex needs following a brain injury. You will work in conjunction with a Neuro-Therapy Team assisting the people we support with their ongoing rehabilitation goals. As a Support and Therapy Assistant you will be part of a team who excel in being an active and positive influence, encouraging the people we support to work towards a brighter future.
Responsibilities
* Promote independence and encourage engagement in the rehabilitation journey following brain injury.
* Support people to manage health care needs, including accompanying service users to routine appointments, hospital admissions and administering medication when fully trained.
* Empower people to manage budgets, pay bills, plan menus, shop and assist with domestic tasks including cleaning and cooking in line with therapy goals set by the therapy team.
* Assist with personal care (depending on the service user).
* Support service users to follow their tailored programme of therapies set by the Physiotherapist, Speech and Language Therapist and Occupational Therapist.
Requirements and Training
Experience within the care sector is not essential as we offer full training.
