Role Description:
We are looking to recruit a Pharmacy Assistant to work in our busy but friendly team based in pharmacy. The role involves performing ward top ups, goods in, order picking and receiving medical gases. This position is vital to maintain the care of our patients and has close working relationships with the trust’s ward staff and pharmacy colleagues based at our other sites.
You must be willing to work hard, be able to manage your own work load as well as meeting the needs of our service users.
We will consider recruiting the right candidate as a band 2 to band 3 progressional post if you do not have all the essential criteria listed in the job description.
Working patterns: Full time with flexible working pattern depending on minimum number of hours per week.

Person specification
Training & Qualification
* GCSE in Maths and English at grade C or above ( or equivalent qualification)
* Numeracy and literacy to a good standard
* NVQ Level 2 or equivalent in Pharmacy Service Skills
Experiance and Knowledge
* Previous customer service experience, including Speaking on the phone and face to face
* Experience of using computers, particularly Microsoft Office and web-based learning
* Experience of general office duties
* Previous Pharmacy experience
* Previous experience with WellSky or equivalent computer system
* Previous knowledge of stock control
Skills and Ability
* Good Communication skills both verbal and written
* Ability to prioritise work and manage time efficiently
* Has good attention to detail and is accurate
* Ability to work as part of a team and as an individual
* Ability to follow set procedures
* Ability to concentrate in a busy environment
* Understanding stock control and stock rotation
Other specific requirements
* Good general health, walking/pushing trolleys/lifting heavy items
* Responsible and puntual
* Ability to work weekends and bank holidays as part of a rota
* Late working as part of a rota
* Ability to work on both hospital sites (RHCH & BNHH)
