Support Worker – Staffordshire County Council (Part‑time)

Newcastle‑under‑Lyme, Staffordshire (travelling within the Borough and surrounding districts)
Overview
Staffordshire County Council is launching its Independence At Home service to support adults in their own homes. As a Support Worker you’ll travel within the community to provide personalised care that enables people to maintain independence and improve their daily living skills. The role is part‑time, with a flexible shift pattern from 7 am to 10 pm, including weekends.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide high‑quality care and support, following individual care plans focused on independence and skill development.
* Use assistive technology to deliver interventions.
* Administer medication safely and in accordance with regulations.
* Carry out manual handling and intimate care tasks (showering, dressing).
* Assist with eating and drinking.
* Accurately complete care records.
Ideal Candidate
* Enthusiastic, caring, patient and able to remain calm in challenging situations.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, able to build positive relationships with service users.
* Physically capable of providing personal care and manual handling tasks.
* Driver’s licence with reliable vehicle and willing to travel across the North/East of Staffordshire.
* Experience working within a team and in a regulated care service.
* Good verbal and written communication, literacy, numeracy and basic IT skills.
* Completed NVQ Level 2 in a relevant discipline.
