Position Overview
As a Mobile Plant Fitter you will respond to customers’ field repair and service requests, diagnosing and providing comprehensive detail about the nature of the problem. You will create quotes as requested by customers in a cost- and time-effective manner.
Working within Finning’s industry-leading field service department, you will represent the largest Caterpillar dealer in the UK and Ireland.

Job Description
You will need outstanding customer focus coupled with in-depth knowledge of plant equipment. You will attend site, understand customer needs, and resolve mechanical or electrical issues safely, timely, and cost-effectively using the most up-to-date dealer software and repair techniques.
Main Job Functions
* Provide an estimate of arrival time at customer’s site in response to the service request based on branch instructions.
* Contact customer’s site management to register arrival, ensure knowledge of customer procedures, and adhere to site requirements.
* Diagnose the likely cause of reported equipment problems and provide the customer with complete information for the required work.
* Identify required parts, requisition them, determine expected delivery times, and agree a date and time for any necessary re-visit.
* Undertake repair and service work to the agreed plan, removing, dispatching components for specialist attention, and reinstalling originals or replacements to bring the machine to required standards.

Education and Experience
* Knowledge of field-based diagnosis tools and equipment.
* Experience with heavy earth-moving equipment.
* Valid LDV driving licence.
* Apprentice-trained engineer or formally trained NVQ Level 3 (preferred), with significant service engineering experience.
* Experience of a variety of construction and static machines.
