We are looking for a Senior Accountant to join an established firm of Chartered Accountants providing a range of accountancy and tax services for both businesses and individuals.
The working hours are 9am - 5pm, Mon-Fri (40hrs per week). The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a portfolio of clients, providing accounting, tax and business advice, and ensuring compliance with UK accounting regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
Compliance:
- Prepare and review accounts and initial tax computations for sole traders, partnerships, limited companies, and individuals.
- Ensure all compliance deadlines are met and maintain up-to-date records for HMRC & Companies House submissions.
- Stay current with changes in accounting legislation.
Advisory:
- Provide advisory services to clients, identifying opportunities for tax savings and efficiency, protection of assets
- Advise clients on the tax implications of business transactions and financial decisions.
- Assist with business restructuring and provide guidance on tax-efficient structuring.
- Advise on software, systems and general business advice.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, acting as their primary point of contact.
General:
- Collaborate with other departments within the firm to deliver integrated services to clients.
- Mentor and support junior staff members, providing training and development opportunities.
- Contribute to the firms business development efforts, including attending networking events and generating new client leads.
- Continuously seek opportunities to improve internal processes and enhance client service delivery.
Qualifications and Skills:
- ACA or ACCA qualified (or equivalent) with a strong background in practice.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience (preferably) in accounts within an accountancy practice.
- Comprehensive knowledge of UK accounting legislation and compliance requirements.
- Proven experience in providing business advisory services to owner-managed businesses.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong client relationships.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficient in using tax software and Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- High attention to detail.
