 
        
        Alston & Bird's London office is conducting a search for a paralegal to assist attorneys across our Corporate, Finance, and Investment Funds Practice Groups. Candidates should be self-starters, highly organized, and team players. Overtime is often needed to meet client deadlines.
Responsibilities
 * Reviewing and analysing matters for the purpose of preparing status reports to fee earners and clients
 * Reviewing, outlining, and summarising documents
 * Proofreading and marking legal documents and contracts
 * Manage and assist with the closing of various transactions, including preparation, coordination and organisation of corporate approvals, conditions precedent checklists, and transaction bibles
 * Collating signatures to transaction documents
 * Performing assigned legal research tasks using all available resources, including libraries and computer data systems
 * Prepare and conduct filings/searches and assist fee earners in the preparation of filings
 * Preparing attendance notes of meetings and calls
 * Assist in the drafting of transaction documentation for fee earners and assisting with post‑closing work
 * Work directly with fee earners and clients during due diligence and closing of transactions
 * Assist fee earners to index, organise documents, correspondence, memorandums and fee‑earner notes
 * Maintain current and accurate daily time record
 * Perform special projects as assigned
 * Draft memos regarding the status of projects
Qualifications & Skills
 * Completion of an undergraduate degree and/or a paralegal certificate is required for consideration
 * 1‑3 years of work experience as a paralegal
 * Ability to organise and prioritise numerous tasks and complete them under time constraints
 * Strong attention to detail when evaluating legal matters
 * Ability to proofread typed material for contextual, grammatical, typographical or spelling errors
 * Interpersonal skills necessary to establish relationships, effectively liaise, communicate and follow instructions from the client, fee earners, staff and vendors, and provide information with courtesy and tact
 * Commitment to providing superior customer service
 * Operate standard office equipment such as photocopiers and personal computers, including Microsoft Word
 * Thorough knowledge of firm systems, practices and procedures to effectively meet employee and department needs
 * Interacting with clients and maintaining files
