Team Leader – Garden Landscapes
Join our team We are looking for an experienced horticultural professional with excellent plant knowledge to lead our Garden Landscapes Team within Cambridge University Botanic Garden. As one of three team leaders reporting to the Head of Horticulture, you will be at the forefront of managing and developing our landscapes, including our scientifically and historically significant tree collection, woodlands, stream and bog gardens, meadow areas, and lawns. You will also oversee machinery, composting facilities, and hard landscaping, ensuring that every corner of the Garden is maintained to the highest standards while supporting our core goals of research, learning, and conservation.
This is a hands-on leadership role where you will guide an experienced team of staff, trainees, and volunteers, while assisting with practical work, project delivery, and plant records management. You will help shape horticultural and arboricultural policies, oversee budgets, and plan for the Garden's future, all while working closely with colleagues across the organisation.
