At TT Electronics, Fairford, we're hiring for a Trainee Machinist to support the machining team by learning and assisting with the setting and operation of the CNC lathes in line with the Quality Management System.
Working under the guidance of experienced machinists and with the support of training and development activities to build knowledge of CNC machining, tooling, and manufacturing processes, you'll develop the skills and knowledge required to become a fully competent CNC machinist.
What You'll Do:
1. Set and operate the CNC Lathe.
2. Programme, change over and set machines in line with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
3. Carry out quality checks on own work using various, imperial and metric, measuring equipment and gauges.
4. Follow operation sheets to ensure parts are progressed through the factory on time and in the correct pathway.
5. Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working area in accordance with site housekeeping standards.
6. Ensure machines, tooling, and work areas are kept in good condition and report any defects or concerns promptly.
Qualifications, Skills and Attributes
What We're Looking For
7. Good communication skills (verbal and written).
8. The ability to work collaboratively with others in the workshop.
9. A willingness to undertake specific training to support the duties and responsibilities of the role.
10. Self-motivated, with a flexible work ethic, and the ability to plan ahead.
11. Computer literate, with knowledge of Microsoft Office packages.
12. GCSE level 4 or above in Maths and English
Prior machining experience is not essential as full training will be provided.
