About the role:
* Provide essential administrative and operational support to the Vice President (Research & Innovation), Professor Sir Bashir M. Al‑Hashimi.
* Manage complex diaries and scheduling commitments.
* Prepare briefings and handle correspondence with professionalism and discretion.
* Coordinate and drive forward the research and innovation ecosystem at King's.
* Represent the Vice President to senior colleagues, faculties, professional service directorates, high‑profile external visitors and partners.
About you:
* Significant experience providing proactive, professional and confidential support to senior leaders such as directors, heads of department, deans or equivalent.
* Ability to anticipate the needs of a senior executive and manage complex schedules and priorities accordingly.
* Proven ability to manage multiple competing priorities under pressure with minimal supervision.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including briefing senior stakeholders clearly and concisely.
* Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach.
* Confident liaison with internal and external stakeholders at all levels.
* Experience supporting delivery of strategic projects, events or conferences.
* Highly proficient in Microsoft Office, virtual meeting tools, SharePoint and other university systems.
* In‑depth knowledge of the higher education landscape, preferably within a research context.
* Knowledge of governance support functions, taking minutes and logging actions and decisions.
* Ability to generate new ideas, support change management and improve workflows.
* Highly skilled at influencing without formal authority, coordinating across teams to align efforts and promote best practice.
This is a full‑time post (35 hours per week) and you will be offered an indefinite contract.
