DEPUTY HEAD OF FACILITIES MANAGEMENT (FM)

Oakhill (Children) Secure Training Centre (STC), Milton Keynes

Salary: £40,755.00 per annum, full-time (40 hours per week, shift working and on call rota)

About G4S Oakhill Secure Training Centre (STC)

G4S Oakhill Secure Training Centre (STC) cares for children aged 12 to 18 years old who have been remanded or sentenced to periods of detention. The children in our care can be vulnerable and challenging, with a wide range of complex social and emotional needs. This is an environment that calls for high standards of social care and service delivery to provide a secure and stable environment for children to develop their life skills and address their previous behaviours. We aim to support change and learning.

We strive to help every child feel safe, giving them an opportunity to heal from trauma and feel supported in developing a more positive identity. We ensure our children have equal access and opportunity for change and are celebrated for their strengths. We want the children in our care to leave better equipped for life emotionally, mentally, physically, and socially. Our hope is that they will go on to make decisions and life choices that will lead to increasingly positive and productive lives. We aim to support the constructive resettlement and transition of our children, whether returning to the community or moving to other custodial settings. About the Role

Oakhill STC is a dynamic, complex, and demanding environment. The successful candidate must be resilient, innovative, passionate, and work collaboratively.

Reporting to the Head of FM, you will be responsible for ensuring that contractual KPI's, compliance (e.g. Health & Safety, statutory etc.) and other legislative requirements are met within the approved financial parameters at Oakhill STC.

We are looking for a leader who fosters transparency and collaborative working, promoting openness, trust, and inclusion.

Some of the key responsibilities of this role are:
* Support in Inducting, coaching, supporting and motivating employees in order to develop and improve their performance, to meet customer, commercial and contractual requirements and to ensure commitment to inclusivity and the maintenance of appropriate behaviour and conduct in line with Group Minimum Standards.
* Ensure statutory and contractual compliance, as well as an effective and consistent response to the delivery of reactive maintenance to maintain a safe and decent environment.
* Support with manage the accurate recording of data in line with operational procedures and the contractual specification.
* Support with the resourcing needs and the on-going selection, vetting, training and development of staff (internal/external) to ensure service delivery is optimised/continually improved to meet contractual/ commercial requirements, including changes over time.
* Maintain effective communication to all stakeholders within area of responsibility to ensure the sharing of consistent, accurate and relevant information.
* Liaise with employees and external agencies to develop local practices, so that best practice can be achieved in a co-ordinated manner, in line with company policies and procedures.
* Support with the Coordination the production, maintenance and dissemination of instructions, manuals, reports, documents and information to ensure all relevant stakeholders are informed.
* Assist in the promotion of creating a positive Health & Safety culture across the site leading by example, this includes reporting accidents and near misses in a timely manner & follow the applicable safe systems of work for the role.
About You

As a requirement of the role, you must be able to demonstrate significant experienced in M&E services & Buildings maintenance, hold a technical qualification to HNC level, have extensive knowledge of the industry's standards and regulations, as well as significant experience of in-house and outsourced estates management service delivery, ensuring compliance.

To excel in this role, you must be a dynamic and engaging individual with significant experience in a similar position, possessing strong knowledge and understanding of current legislation.
