Teaching Personnel has day-to-day and longer-term ECT work across Durham secondary schools. Pick up a few days a week while you build confidence, or go full-time if that suits you better. What the work looks like: You'll step into classrooms when teachers are absent - lesson plans are ready, you deliver them. It's mixed subjects and year groups, so you get a feel for different schools and student dynamics. Some days will go brilliantly, others will test you. That's how you learn what kind of teacher you are. Why flexible ECT work makes sense: You get paid classroom experience without committing to a permanent contract immediately. You see different schools and teaching styles. You figure out what age groups and environments suit you. And if a school really clicks, longer placements or permanent roles often follow.
