A vacancy has arisen for a new specialist Complex Dual Diagnosis (Co-existing Mental Health and Substance Use) Recovery Worker role. As Ealing RISE continues to increase the provision of support, access, and assessment for individuals who due to their complex mental health condition(s) have historically been unable to engage and/or be retained in substance misuse treatment. We’re looking for a committed professional to support individuals with complex co-existing mental health and substance use needs. Many of our clients face additional challenges such as neurodevelopmental conditions, learning disabilities, unstable housing, poor health, safeguarding concerns, and limited support networks. You’ll manage a dedicated caseload and work flexibly across the community, offering assertive outreach and in-reach support in diverse settings — from GP surgeries and mental health services to substance misuse hubs and supported accommodation. This is a mobile, hands-on role suited to someone resilient, empathetic, and motivated to drive change where it matters. Where: Ealing Hours: Full Time, 37.5 hours per week Full Time Salary: £27,861.26 - £32,002.35 dependent on experience (based on full time hours, pro rata for part time) Contract Type : Fixed Term until the 31st March 2027 Allowances: £4133.14 Inner London Weighting (Based on full time hours, paid pro rata for part time hours) Full-time hours at Change Grow Live are 37.5 hours per week. For part-time roles, the salary, allowances and holidays will be pro rata based on contracted hours. About The Role: Provide bespoke interventions for identified service users, with the aim of engaging people in the most appropriate service for their needs, reducing re-presentations and bringing about positive client outcomes. Support the development of joint working protocols with mental health services and substance misuse services (including: Community Mental Health Teams (CMHTs), Improving Access to Psychological Therapies services). Identify the training and support needs of colleagues working with this group of service users and deliver training or provide support as appropriate. Identify any gaps in dual diagnosis provision and provide examples of good practice to inform future pathway and service design. Improve communication and referral pathways between substance misuse and mental health teams and other services involved in the care and treatment of people with dual diagnosis. Provide a case management role for identified dual diagnosis service users as appropriate. About you: Experience of working in substance misuse and/or mental health settings. Experience of working with people with co-morbid mental health and substance misuse problems. An understanding of and commitment to safeguarding best practice. Experience of managing a caseload of clients with complex needs. Knowledge of and skills in appropriate therapeutic interventions for working with people with dual diagnosis. Knowledge of current mental health, substance misuse and dual diagnosis policy, guidance and legislation. Ability to liaise and work in partnership with a wide range of professionals and agencies. Excellent team working and interpersonal skills, maintaining a highly cooperative approach to supporting colleagues in delivering service objectives.
