Now, we are looking for a qualified and experienced Supervising Social Worker to join our Northwest team!
About the Role
As a Supervising Social Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting our foster parents and ensuring the welfare of the children in our care. Your collaborative approach will help foster meaningful supervision of placements, and your expertise will guide our foster parents in their essential roles.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide direct support to foster parents with a manageable caseload, ensuring high levels of supervision.
* Conduct regular supervision sessions, monitoring compliance with regulatory standards.
* Work in partnership with children, young people, foster parents, and other professionals to facilitate participation in meetings and decision-making.
* Engage in recruitment, training, and supervision of foster parents.
* Maintain high standards through quality assurance and training initiatives.
What We’re Looking For
* A Social Work England qualification or equivalent, with current registration.
* Experience in fostering and a comprehensive understanding of fostering regulations, child care law, and safeguarding legislation.
* Excellent communication skills and a commitment to high-quality practice.
* Good IT skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and databases.
* A full driving licence and access to your own vehicle for travel across the Northwest.
* Willingness to participate in an Out of Hours rota and undertake an Enhanced DBS check (cost covered by us).
Working Conditions
This is a full-time position with a 12-month fixed-term maternity cover. You will work 37 hours per week from our office in the Northwest, starting in March 2026.
