This isn't a traditional maintenance role.
You'll be working in a live manufacturing environment, combining hands-on engineering with controls, automation, and process improvement. The focus is on keeping equipment running, but also understanding how it works and how it can be improved.
There's a key focus on a major product areas so you'll be closely involved in process development work, not just day-to-day support.
Electrical & Controls Engineer (Manufacturing)

£50,000 to £55,000 + Benefits
Full-time, permanent (37.5 hours per week)
Responsibilities
* Support and improve production equipment across electrical, mechanical, and control systems
* Fault find and modify PLC-controlled systems (Siemens preferred)
* Work with control systems, instrumentation, and process equipment
* Interpret and work from P&IDs and technical drawings
* Support process improvements, optimisation, and equipment upgrades
* Assist with new equipment integration, commissioning, and validation
* Work closely with operations, engineering, and technical teams
* Remain hands-on, supporting breakdowns where required
Requirements:
* Experience in a manufacturing or process-driven environment
* Strong understanding of PLCs and control systems (Siemens / TIA Portal ideal)
* Exposure to process systems and the ability to interpret P&IDs
* Electro-mechanical capability with a hands-on approach
* Experience supporting or improving automated equipment
* Comfortable working across controls, mechanical, and process aspects
* Proactive mindset with the ability to identify and implement improvements
