Our client based in the Bordon area is looking to recruit a Roaming Inspector/Goods In Inspector. They are experts in electronic and mechanical design with a reputation for quality and field-proven reliability.
The main function of the Roaming Inspector role is to prevent defective product (whether raw materials or finished goods) from getting into stock. This is achieved by carrying out an incoming inspection
and/or test on selected incoming product. The type and amount of inspection/lest carried out varies between product and supplier and depends upon a number of factors, e.g. results of supplier audits,
supplier performance history and criticality of product.
Job Specification:
The Roaming Inspector is responsible for the inspection and test of selected incoming raw materials and finished goods (from other manufacturing sites or contractors).
100% inspection/test is costly and is used only where there is a high risk that defective product will be received. For lower risk products/suppliers, statistical sampling techniques may be used, whereby a
random sample of product from the incoming batch is checked. Where the risk of receiving defective product is very low, product may be passed straight into stock without any goods-in inspection/test.
