Overview
An established aquaculture business with a reputation for low-impact, high-welfare farming has an opportunity for an experienced Landing Craft Skipper to support daily marine logistics and sea site operations in the remote and scenic Northwest Highlands. This is a hands-on role suited to a Skipper who can confidently lead vessel operations, support aquaculture logistics and uphold the highest standards of safety, compliance and environmental care.
Key responsibilities
* Operate and maintain landing craft within certified limits and in line with D.O.T, MCA and Health & Safety regulations
* Perform sea site operations including feed delivery, mooring maintenance, towing of pens and barges
* Keep thorough onboard records including servicing, engine logs, fuel use, crew hours and disinfection protocol
* Support farm operations and liaise with production and site managers
* Ensure compliance with company standards, health & safety and environmental protocols
* Supervise boat personnel, including training and performance management
* Weekend work as required by boat workload
What we’re looking for
* RYA Commercial Endorsement for vessels under 24m
* Strong understanding of maritime safety and aquaculture logistics
* Organised, responsible and capable of mentoring others
* Comfortable working in remote coastal environments
* Willingness to work flexibly, including weekends and broader site duties
* Driving licence and own transport
