HC Clubhouse Assistant, part time, term time
Hamilton College is a non-denominational Christian Independent School for children and young people from the ages of 2-18. The school encompasses Nursery, Junior and Senior levels generating a truly ‘family’ atmosphere for the individual as they journey through the school. Christian values underpin everything we aim to do in the school.
The HC Clubhouse, open from 1500 - 1800 each day, is a dedicated clubs offering designed to give a safe, relaxed and enjoyable space at the end of the school day.
We are looking to appoint a motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our HC Clubhouse as a HC Clubhouse Assistant. This role involves supporting the delivery of high-quality play opportunities and care for our Junior School children. Working alongside colleagues, the successful candidate will help create a safe, engaging and inclusive environment where children can learn, explore and thrive.
Key responsibilities
* Plan and lead blocks of engaging activities for Junior School pupils.
* Support and reinforce the school’s standards of behaviour, ensuring expectations are maintained while still allowing children to enjoy a relaxed and fun atmosphere.
* Plan, prepare and serve snacks for the children.
* Plan and promote outdoor activities suited to the needs, interests and abilities of the children.
* Provide a relaxed, stimulating and safe environment in which all children feel secure and happy.
* Offer comfort and basic First Aid in the event of minor accidents or ailments.
* Ensure children are safely collected by an authorised adult at the end of each session.
* Assist with setting up and clearing away resources, equipment and spaces before and after the club.
The successful candidate should have the following attributes -
* Enjoys working with children and can build positive, supportive relationships.
* A creative, organised individual with enthusiasm for planning play‑based and outdoor activities.
* A team player with strong communication skills and a caring, professional attitude.
The successful applicant must either be an existing member of the PVG Scheme or be prepared to join this scheme and prove their right to work in the UK before commencement of employment. An offer of employment will be subject to two satisfactory references and a clean report from Disclosure Scotland PVG Scheme.
Job Type: Part time, term time, permanent.
Hours: 15 hours per week, 1500-1800, Monday to Friday.
Salary: In accordance with Hamilton College pay scales.
