Business unit: Energy. The Energy unit provides services across hydropower, nuclear, waste, renewable generation, and transmission & distribution. We deliver integrated engineering and project management across the project lifecycle, from concept to decommissioning, helping clients with energy transition projects in the UK and Europe.
Overview Of The Role
The Energy Transition team is looking for Senior Civil & Structural (C&S) Engineers to strengthen the Civil, Structural and Architectural (CSA) team. The role provides advisory and design capabilities across a variety of power and energy project types and technologies in a growing portfolio, supporting clients in the UK and across Europe as part of the energy transition.
Key Responsibilities And Duties
* Develop cost-effective, efficient and innovative Civil & Structural solutions for complex problems using engineering tools such as Revit, Tekla, Robot, AutoCAD and Civil 3D to create practical designs.
* Deliver projects across stages of maturity including design review, feasibility studies, FEED studies and detailed design; opportunities for site work during development, construction and commissioning.
* Prepare deliverables such as 3D structural models, design reports, general arrangement drawings, pipe support design, foundation envelopes and RC detailing.
* Support plant layouts and plant 3D models development.
* Collaborate with project teams to develop practical, cost-effective designs based on identified solutions.
* Engage with equipment vendors on design of equipment packages and participate in technical evaluations of vendor designs.
* Support proposal development and bids for Civil & Structural projects and contribute to multi-disciplinary proposals.
* Provide technical leadership and governance within projects.
* Promote health, safety and wellbeing in the workplace.
Candidate Specification
Essential
* Degree in a relevant Engineering subject.
* Chartered Engineer (or in the process of obtaining) and Member of a relevant Engineering Institute.
* Significant postgraduate experience in Civil & Structural technical delivery.
* Ability and desire to lead the development of C&S deliverables.
* Ability to manage multiple projects in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
* Experience with structural design software (Robot Professional, STAAD Pro) and CAD software (Advanced Steel, Revit, AutoCAD).
* Excellent communication skills.
* Knowledge of design and construction of power and energy projects.
* Understanding of the design process, including working knowledge of briefs/scopes, design concepts, and calculations.
* Working knowledge of national and international codes and standards in the power and energy sector.
* Experience working with clients and contractors with diverse objectives to achieve technical solutions.
Preferred But Not Essential
* Experience within Owner's Engineer or technical advisory sectors.
