About The Role
As a Senior Care Assistant at HC One, kindness is at the core of every action. You will contribute to Dementia, Nursing, Residential and Specialist care and work to ensure residents are treated as individuals with their own stories. You will plan and implement care that gives residents security, dignity and independence and get to know residents and their families to deliver truly personalised care plans. You will lead a team of Care Assistants and maintain the highest standards of care, acting as a positive influence on the team. You may assist with activities such as helping with mobility aids, supporting end-of-life meals, and communicating with residents’ families with kindness. You will work with the Registered Nurse and Care Manager to provide essential physical and mental stimulation through activities and to administer medication. A key responsibility is maintaining accurate records and building strong team relationships.
Ideally, you will have completed a Level 2 Diploma/SNVQ in Adult Care and be prepared to work towards Level 3 qualification in Adult Care or equivalent, with a background in person-centred care planning and knowledge of caring for people with dementia. What’s essential is your positive energy and ability to relate well to others, strong record-keeping, time management, and a kind, considerate communication style.
Responsibilities
* Lead a team of Care Assistants and maintain high standards of care.
* Plan and implement personalised care to provide security, dignity and independence for residents.
* Develop and review personalised care plans with residents and their families.
* Assist the Registered Nurse and Care Manager; support residents with a range of social and recreational activities; administer medication where required.
* Maintain accurate records and build strong relationships with the team.
* Communicate with residents and co-workers with kindness and professionalism.
Qualifications
* Level 2 Diploma/SNVQ in Adult Care or equivalent; prepared to work towards Level 3.
* Background in person-centred care planning and dementia care.
* Excellent communication, time management and record-keeping skills.
* Positive energy, ability to work well with others and demonstrate kindness.
* Safeguarding awareness and willingness to undertake safeguarding training and appropriate reporting.
