About the Role
Fixation Academy is looking for an experienced and creative Performing Arts Team Lead with a strong background in dance, drama, or singing to lead our holiday camp performing arts programme. You will not only deliver high-quality performing arts and arts and crafts sessions but also take charge of your group as the lead staff member – overseeing registers, managing behaviour, liaising with parents, and reporting directly to the Camp Manager.
Responsibilities:
* Lead your group of children aged 6–11, ensuring their safety, engagement, and enjoyment throughout the day.
* Manage the group register and ensure accurate sign-in/sign-out procedures.
* Deliver structured and inspiring performing arts sessions in dance, drama, and/or singing.
* Prepare your group for the end-of-week showcase, ensuring every child is included.
* Provide daily handovers with parents in a professional and positive manner.
* Mentor and support Performing Arts Activity Leaders and Assistants.
* Escalate safeguarding or behaviour concerns to the Camp Manager.
* Maintain a calm, organised, and safe environment, modelling professionalism at all times.
* Encourage creativity, teamwork, and confidence in every child.
Requirements:
* Strong background in performing arts (training, teaching, or professional experience).
* At least 2 years' experience leading children's performing arts sessions.
* Strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection.
* Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain).
* Excellent organisational and leadership skills, with the ability to manage a team.
* Confident communicator with children, staff, and parents.
* PLI insurance preferred.
* Self-motivated, calm under pressure, and able to lead independently.
