Bank Registered & Senior Nurses - HMP Channings Wood
We are expanding our pool of bank workers to recruit Registered Nurses and Senior Nurses to work within the Prison Service on a flexible basis. This role supports Oxleas NHS Foundation Trust’s provision of health care across its portfolio of prisons in the South of England.
Overview
As a bank nurse, you will deliver high quality clinical care within the Integrated Healthcare Service for the prison setting. Responsibilities include acute and primary care, long term conditions management, enhanced assessment and diagnostic interventions, and health promotion activities. You will demonstrate robust expert clinical skills and evidence-based nursing practice to support proactive, outcome-driven care on a day-to-day basis.
Senior Nurse
As a Senior Nurse, you will provide high quality primary care services and a range of specialist interventions for offenders. You will support a nurse‑led integrated primary care service, deliver emergency response and first night in custody/new registration services, and maintain effective case management to ensure continuity of treatment within the patient care pathway. You will ensure clinics and consultations are delivered in a timely, clinically effective manner and contribute to health improvement and disease prevention within prison settings.
Banding and experience
* We are looking for registered nurses at band 5 or 6; banding discussed at interview and based on experience.
* To work as a bank-only worker, you will need to have completed preceptorship training or have 6 months post-qualification experience.
