Position: Senior Support Worker
Location: St Albans, Hertfordshire
Salary: £15.40 - £16.00 per hour + £62.64 per sleep-in (approx. 4-8 sleep-ins per month, adding £3,000-£6,000 per annum)
Hours: Full-Time, 39 hours per week
Requirements: Level 3 CYPW or Residential Childcare qualification, Full UK Driving Licence
About the Opportunity
Leader Recruitment Group, a specialist in children's residential care recruitment, is seeking a dedicated Senior Support Worker for a therapeutic children's home in St Albans. This role involves providing high-quality, therapeutic care to children with complex needs and behavioural difficulties, supporting their development and well-being.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide a safe, nurturing environment to promote positive development.
* Assist in managing the home alongside the Service Manager.
* Lead and support colleagues in delivering therapeutic, child-centred care.
* Build trusting relationships with children and colleagues.
* Record observations and contribute to care planning.
* Ensure safeguarding and organizational policies are followed.
* Work flexibly, including long shifts, weekends, and sleep-ins (approx. 4-8 per month).
Candidate Requirements
* Minimum 12 months' experience in children's residential care or knowledge of therapeutic models.
* Level 3 qualification in Caring for Children and Young People or Residential Childcare.
* Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
* Strong communication skills, caring, flexible, and resilient approach.
* Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues and external professionals.
* Commitment to safeguarding children.
