They have an award winning payroll platform aimed at SME to Mid Market businesses in the UK – They are competitive in several industries making the SDR role interesting as you will be prospecting a wide range of businesses.

As the Sales Development Representative your responsibilities and duties will include:
You will play a critical role in driving the top of the sales funnel by identifying and qualifying new business leads. Working alongside the Senior Business Development Manager, your primary responsibility will be to generate interest in our payroll services through outbound prospecting, social media, cold emails, and cold calls. You will also help build and manage a pipeline of potential clients, ensuring the company meets its growth targets.
* Lead Generation: Proactively identify and research potential clients through outbound prospecting efforts such as cold calling, emailing, and social selling – We have a number of tools you can use and are looking to invest new ones you find valuable!
* Qualifying Leads: Engage with potential clients to understand their needs and pain points, qualify leads, and determine if they are a good fit
* Appointment Setting: Schedule meetings and demos for the Senior Business Development Manager, ensuring a smooth handoff of qualified leads – This role can transition into a 360 sales role if you perform well!
* CRM Management: Maintain accurate records of lead interactions and progress in the company’s CRM system (Zoho), ensuring all information is up to date and properly managed.
* Collaboration: Work closely with the marketing and sales teams to align on messaging, target market segments, and lead nurturing strategies.
* Event Support: Assist in pre- and post-event outreach for industry events like Accountex, including reaching out to event attendees and generating leads through event participation.
* Reporting: Track and report on lead generation activities and KPIs, providing insights on the effectiveness of outreach efforts and areas for improvement
Essential Skills and Competencies of the Sales Development Representative
* Sales Enthusiasm: Passionate about sales with a strong desire to succeed in a business development role – Hungry to bring new clients on board!
* Proven Track Record: Minimum 1-2 years of experience in new business development, or inside sales role ( B2B experience)
* Outbound Sales Skills: Experience with cold calling, email campaigns, and social selling techniques to generate new business opportunities.
* Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to build rapport and establish trust with potential clients.
* Organizational Skills: Strong time management and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
* CRM Proficiency: Experience using CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot) to track leads, manage pipeline, and report on progress.
* Team Player: Ability to collaborate effectively with the Senior Account Executive and other team members to drive shared success.
* Resilience: Comfortable with rejection and the persistence required in outbound lead generation roles.
* Industry Knowledge: Experience or understanding of the payroll industry or related services (desirable but not essential).
